水墨画を稽古していると、自然と仏教や禅仏教にも触れるようになりました。
「人の意識は、常に新しく生まれ変わり、その瞬間、瞬間をあたらしく生きているのだ。」と言います。
最初はまるで理解せず、嫌悪感のようなものを抱いていましたが、折りに触れ思い出してきました。水墨画の実践のなかで、時々腑に落ちることが出てきました。
今では、一瞬にして古びてしまう事や、新しく生まれ続けることが、興味深くも尊くも感じられています。2023年8月～の個展「侘びるものの始まり」の構想も、このような興味からスタートして構成しました。
振り撒いた絵具が盛り上がり、その上から金箔をはっていて、部分的に立体感があります。

この背景の金箔のようすは、尾形光琳作「杜若子花図屏風」に使用されていた用い方です。笑いと涙、出会いと別れの両方で成り立つことを肯定的に捉え、まばゆい金色で賛美したいという、最近の私の作風になりました。

While practicing ink painting, I naturally came into contact with Buddhism and Zen Buddhism.
They says, "Human consciousness is constantly being reborn and living each moment anew.''
At first I didn't understand it at all and felt something like disgust, but then I came across it and remembered it in my mind. In my practice of ink painting, there were times when such religious doctrine seemed to make sense to me.
Nowadays, things that become old in an instant and things that continue to be reborn are both interesting and precious to my mind. The concept for my solo exhibition "The Beginning of Wabi ", which will be held from August 2023, was designed based on this interest.
The sprinkled paint rises up and gold leaf is applied over it, making it partially three-dimensional.

The gold leaf used in the background is the method used in a great Rimpa artist Korin Ogata's masterpiece "The Ireses". It has become my recent style to express my positive understanding of the fact that both laughter and tears, meetings and farewells are formed in base of our lives, and to praise it with cracked shining gold.
