「人生は経験と会話」
これは、NYから水墨画体験に来てくれた方が、お話の中で言ってくれた言葉です。
いろいろな経験をした者達が集まり、その時のメンバーでなければ出来ない会話をする。それは僅かな時間。そしてまた、それぞれの経験をする場所へと戻っていく。このような事を、「一期一会」と名指すのでしょう。
たくさん一緒に笑った、たくさんの瞬間が、私達を生きさせてくれます。また、私達の存在もろともに消え去っていくものでもあります。様々な人物の違いを、多種類の金箔と割り方の違いで表しました。

青かった洋金箔が、赤く変色してきました。この作品には不思議な現象が起きています。生き物のような作品です。金箔以外の箔の殆どは、やがて変色して、背景の藍色と同化するかもしれません。
純金箔をしている部分は色の変化はなく、ずっと美しく残る事になっています。

この背景の金箔のようすは、尾形光琳作「杜若子花図屏風」に使用されていた用い方です。笑いと涙、出会いと別れの両方で成り立つことを肯定的に捉え、まばゆい金色で賛美したいという、最近の私の作風になりました。

"Life is experiences and conversations"
This is the word that a person who came from New York to experience ink painting at my class said in our conversation.
People with various experiences gather together and have conversations that would only be possible if they were members at that time. It's only a short time. Then, they return to the place where they have their own experiences. This kind of thing is called "ichi-go ichi-e (once in a lifetime encounter)."
The many moments we laughed together keep us alive. Also, the conversations will disappear together with our existence.
The differences between the various people are expressed through different types of gold leaf and different ways of splitting.

The bluish gold leaf has now turned red. A magical phenomenon has been occurring in this work. I feel like this work has its own life. Most of colored gold leaves other than gold leaf may eventually change color and blend into the indigo background.
The parts covered with pure gold leaf will not change color and will remain beautiful forever.

The gold leaf used in the background is the method used in a great Rimpa artist Korin Ogata's masterpiece "The Ireses". It has become my recent style to express my positive understanding of the fact that both laughter and tears, meetings and farewells are formed in base of our lives, and to praise it with cracked shining gold.
